
RYAN CLEMENT Head of Chambers BA English (Hons), BSc Q.S. (Hons), LLM, CPE, Ryan was called to the Bar in 1996 (Middle Temple). He is a member of the Employment Law Bar Association and TECBAR. Ryan specialises in Employment, General Civil, Landlord and Tenant, Commercial and Construction. Ryan is also a registered lawyer with the Football Association. Prior to being a lawyer, he worked as a professional in the construction industry as a surveyor and construction manager for two firms of chartered surveyors and two multi-national companies in construction management. Carole joined Chambers at it's inauguration and has been a clerk since 1997 and deals with all aspects of billing and fee negotiation, practice management and is responsible for the smooth running of Chambers. Fees: We usually charge according to their level of experience, the complexity of the case and the length of time involved in dealing with it. We will agree a fixed fee for each piece of work that you ask us to undertake, and will require this fee to be paid in advance. There are no formal scales of fees for barrister's work, but we will generally charge a standard fee for certain types of hearing or work that they do regularly. Where the fee relates to a hearing, the barrister is normally entitled to the fee, whether or not the hearing goes ahead. 50% of the fee will be payable before the barrister starts preparation for the hearing and this will be non refundable whatever happens.
